ANNUAL FINANCIAL AUDIT OF GRAMA PANCHAYATS
The Kerala State Audit Department has the statutory authority to conduct the annual financial audit of Grama Panchayats in Kerala. The primary objective of the audit is to ensure that public funds and government grants are utilized transparently, properly, and accountably.
The audit process includes examining whether all expenditures, financial transactions, and implementation of development projects are carried out in accordance with the applicable government rules, regulations, and approved budget provisions.
After the examination, the Audit Department issues an Audit Report highlighting any financial irregularities, procedural lapses, or other matters requiring corrective action.
